What we are doing
In 2025 we successfully completed approximately 90% of the new watermain on Cumberland Market and Hampstead Road. From February 2026 we will be carrying out the final 10% of watermain installation and final commissioning.
During these works there will be no access to Hampstead Road via Robert Street with local diversions in place. Traffic on Hampstead Road will be controlled by temporary signals as works will take place in the southbound carriageway.
Please note that Varndell Street will be opened to vehicles prior to these works commencing
