What we're building in Northamptonshire

Greatworth tunnel

The Greatworth tunnel will run for 1.7 miles (2.7km) through West Northamptonshire.

Lower Thorpe viaduct

The 220m Lower Thorpe viaduct will carry trains across Banbury Lane. It will also help manage flood risk by allowing rainwater to drain into existing watercourses.

Edgcote viaduct

The 515m Edgcote viaduct will carry trains across the River Cherwell floodplain. It will sit low in the landscape.

Chipping Warden tunnel

The Chipping Warden tunnel will run for 1.5 miles (2.5km) past Chipping Warden village.

Highfurlong Brook viaduct

The 163m Highfurlong Brook viaduct will carry trains across the Highfurlong Brook and its floodplain, near the village of Aston le Walls, Northamptonshire. The Highfurlong Brook is a tributary of the River Cherwell, which joins the Thames at Oxford.
