Job description:

The Excavator Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavators to carry out digging, grading, lifting, and loading tasks on construction, groundwork, and civil engineering projects. Duties include following site plans, working to specification, and supporting site teams to meet project deadlines. Operators must complete daily machine checks, perform basic maintenance, and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures. Good communication with supervisors and other plant operators is essential to ensure safe and productive site operations.

Candidate description:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Excavator Operator with a strong background in construction, groundworks, or civil engineering projects. They will hold a valid CPCS/NPORS Excavator ticket and be confident operating excavators of various sizes. The candidate should have good knowledge of excavation techniques, trenching, grading, and lifting operations, as well as the ability to read site plans and work to specification. A proactive attitude toward health, safety, and environmental standards is essential, along with strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively alongside site supervisors and other operatives.
