A ten day closure of the A446, Lichfield Road commencing from the early hours on the morning of Monday 23 February 2026 reopening by midnight on Wednesday 4 March 2026.
What we are doing
Installing the viaduct segments of the Water Orton Viaducts 1 and 2 over the carriageway and footway of the A446 Lichfield Road, including lifting concrete
sections into place from a crane. To complete these works safely we will be installing closures from the junction of Gorsey Lane to the junction with Marsh
Lane, including Watton Lane.
What to expect
• Full 10-day road closure.
• The work will be undertaken during day and night shifts 24/7 to complete in the shortest possible timeframe
• Low-level of noise from our machinery
• Update on any changes in advance.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
