Update: Further works on the Adelaide Road site boundary

What we are doing

Removal of the brick wall on Adelaide Road

We wrote to you in early April advising that we would be carrying out further works to remove the brick wall at the eastern end of our site on Adelaide Road.

We need to remove this section of the wall as it is located in the area where we will place our welfare cabins and access gates to the site while we carry out piling works.  We are extending our site at the eastern end as we require additional space for construction of the ventilation shaft and headhouse.

We are planning to install our welfare cabins and access gates shortly.

These works will continue from late May to late June. We will remove ivy and low-level vegetation on top of and next to the wall.

During June, we will be carrying out soil sample works within the eastern area of our site. This will involve digging small trenches to remove multiple levels of soil. Once completed, we will cover the area with weed control fabric.

Upcoming piling works at Adelaide Road site

During summer 2021, we will be carrying out piling works within the Adelaide Road site. We are still confirming the dates for these works. We will provide more information to local residents as soon as possible.
