Update: Utilities work on Adelaide Road

What we are doing

Works planned from 30 November to 06 December 2022

Utilities works are continuing on Adelaide Road until January 2023.

The lane and footpath currently closed outside 74 to 78 Adelaide Road will reopen in late November 2022.
From 30 November to 6 December 2022, we will be carrying out further utility works on Adelaide Road. These works will include excavating a temporary trench to install ducting to protect existing utility services under the road surface.

There will be a lane and footpath closure in place on Adelaide Road outside Modern Motors and the Medical Centre. The approximate location is shown on the map below. Walking access to Modern Motors and the Medical Centre will be maintained at all times. The dates for these works may be subject to change.

Works planned from 7 December to 20 December 2022
From 7 to 20 December 2022, we will be carrying out utility works on Adelaide Road. These works are for utility duct installation and monitoring. There will be a lane closure and footpath closure in place on Adelaide Road outside the Adelaide Road Medical Centre, opposite Hutchinson House from 7 – 13 December.

From 7 to 20 December there will be a footpath closure outside Modern Motors. Pedestrian diversions will be clearly signposted.

The dates for these works may change.

Hoarding
Due to changes to the programme, the hoarding and artwork around the Adelaide Road site will not be completed in November as originally planned. The expected completion date will be in early 2023.
